    • Thomas was living at Liveseys Court, Bolton at the time of the 1861 census when he was aged five months old.

      By the time of the 1871 census the family had moved in with his grandmother, Mary Tatlock.

      On the 1881 census Thomas was boarding with his married sister, Catherine Mitchell, at 80 Bark Street, Little Bolton. He was married to Elizabeth Brockbank at this time, but the couple were living apart.

      Thomas worked as a labourer at an iron forge whilst in Bolton.

      Sometime in the 1880's Thomas left Bolton and emigrated to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He remarried on 21st May 1888 at St Patrick's Church, Montreal, to Mary McArthur. It is not known whether Thomas and Elizabeth Tatlock had divorced, but it is unlikely.

      Thomas earned his living as a comedian and dancer on the stage in Montreal and also in New York. In later life he also worked as a waiter, and performed in a tavern.

      Thomas is said to have died eight minutes after midnight on 8th January 1929 at 889 Outremont Street, Montreal, according to his son James Tatlock. The funeral parlour was William Ray. He was working for the Canadian Pacific Railway at the mile end. James said that they met him after work during the summer and walked back home. The funeral was held in St Michels parish. James said everybody called his father Tommy. They were living on Esplanade Street and moved to De L'Epee Street, he remembers the bakery shop across the street. Emily, Thomas Tatlock's daughter, said that his brother William Tatlock lived in Montreal for a while, and possibly came over on the same boat.
