Death |
15 Sep 1927 |
164, St Johns Hill, Battersea, Surrey, England |
Cause: Cerebral Thrombosis/Paraplegia |
- 164 St John's Hill was the address of St John's Hospital.
St John's Hill was originally the Wandsworth and Clapham Union Workhouse; renamed the Union Infirmary in 1870, St John's Hill Infirmary in 1920 and St John's Hospital in 1922.
His grandaughter Daisy thought that he had died at St James' Hospital, Balham, around 1925-1930 of pneumonia. She said he had 400 sovereigns sewn into the lining of his coat which were stolen in the hospital.
